Most roofs incorporate perimeter walls (parapet) as a standard construction design feature. This potentially presents a challenge for placing of solar panels, because these walls cast shadows during different times of the day, and such shade can severely affect performance of solar panels.

Typically, a 1m high perimeter walls would require minimum setback of at least two meters, which in some cases may severely limit the space available for a solar PV system. In such cases, we implement a custom-designed elevated mounting solution, which avoids shadows from parapet walls, whilst also providing the added benefit of easy accessibility in case roof surface needs to be serviced.
